HOW THIS TEST WORKS
How How Well Do I Run Meetings? works
How version core-v1 is scored, and what it can and cannot tell you.
How it is scored
Research on meetings finds that how a meeting is run shapes whether it helps or wastes time. Meetings focused on solutions and action are linked with better team results (Kauffeld and Lehmann-Willenbrock, 2012), and simple habits like a clear purpose, shorter lengths, and inclusion make meetings more useful (Rogelberg, 2019). Groups that share talking time evenly tend to do better (Woolley and others, 2010), and teams where people feel safe to speak up learn more (Edmondson, 1999).
This test looks at five areas: clear purpose, respecting time, hearing every voice, ending with decisions, and following up. Each area has eight sentences. Four describe a strong habit and four describe the opposite. Each answer gives 0 to 4 points. Each area score runs from 0 to 100, and your overall score is the average of the five.

What it cannot tell you
This test is for learning about yourself. It is not a diagnosis or a performance rating. Do not use it to hire, fire, promote, rank, or rate people.
How your meetings go also depends on your team, your workplace, and the meetings you are asked to run. A lower score does not mean you are a poor leader.
This version has not yet been tested with a large group of people, so we do not yet know how accurate it is.
